안녕히 가세요 / 안녕히 계세요.
Go well / Stay well.
There are two kinds of greetings when saying goodbye in Korean. There is a greeting you use to people who are leaving you, and a greeting you use when you are leaving others. A direct translation of 안녕히 가세요 is 안녕히 = well and 가세요 = go; a direct translation of 안녕히 계세요 is 안녕히 = well and 계세요 = stay. Hence, you say 안녕히 가세요[Annyonghi-ga-seyo] when you mean “go well” to people who are leaving, and 안녕히 계세요[Annyonghi-gye-seyo] when you mean “stay well” to people when you are leaving them. Of course, you say “안녕히 가세요[Annyonghi-ga-seyo]” when everybody leaves.
